Book and Culture Week
The students have all had a great time this week and many thanks to our staff and parent volnteers making it so enjoyable. Its been so nice seeing all the students engaged in the activities and the costumes they wear every day!


The Exhibition
June 9th - 11th
(Grade 5/6 Parent Information Night - April 8th, 7.00pm)
Our Grade 5/6 students will be starting their exhibition shortly, its teh big event of their year and we will be happy to invite our whoel schol community to view and hear what they have accomplished! Please mark the dates and support our students!


Campus Security Work
We are happy to say that when we come back you will see some positive changes in our campus security. 

We will be updating our systems with 
- A new front gate with high quality security locks
- A new gate in the kindergarten area with an emergency quick release opening system
- Security cameras covering the full campus perimeter, not just at the main gate. They will record on a 48 hour loop, stored on a server located on campus so no images will be sent to a third party. The recording will not be accessible to anyone unless there is just cause and approval by both the principal and office manager.

Please take a look when you come back, the student council decided the colour scheme so our thanks to them and their work.

School Lunches

Deadline - March 16, 2021

We will continue to have a catered school lunch from Pizzeria del Rokko.

This time the lunch period will be between April 1 – June 15, 2021.

Orders can only be processed after payment has been made and confirmed.

Please be aware that in case of the absences or sickness of the child during the period the fee cannot be refunded.

The lunch will not come with chopsticks or forks. Your children need to bring them from home.

 

Early Years and Pre-School 

The Early Years and Pre-School children’s lunch is Y500 each, total cost Y24,500.

Book and Culture Week

“Weaving Diversity through Reading and a Culturally Responsible Learning for a new future.”

 

BOOK AND CULTURE WEEK activity for each day is as follows:

 

Monday, March 15 - 

• Instagram (Photo Booth) - students can pose and have their photos taken in the first-floor sitting area.

• D.E.A.R - From 9:00 - 9:15, the whole school will read a book in their classroom.

• Spirit Week (National Dress) - wear the clothes from your country and bring your favorite book from your country (or a printout of the cover).

• Match the Book Launching! Which teacher likes which book? Take a guess!

 

Tuesday, March 16 -

• Instagram (Photo Booth) - students can pose and have their photos taken in the first-floor sitting area.

• D.E.A.R - From 9:00 - 9:15, the whole school will read a book in their classroom.

• Spirit Week (Pajama Party) - Bring your favorite book and come to school in your pajamas!

 

Wednesday, March 17 -

• Instagram (Photo Booth) - students can pose and have their photos taken in the first-floor sitting area.

• D.E.A.R - From 9:00 - 9:15, the whole school will read a book in their classroom.

• Spirit Week (Character dress-up day) - Come to school dressed as your favorite book character.

• Match the Book Revelation! - The answers to Monday's contest will be revealed!

 

Kindergarten Assembly
The Blue team (Kindergarten) made the story "The Sun" for our year long unit "Sharing the Planet".  All the musical instruments which expresses the characters  are chosen by children. Please enjoy.


Important
We had a report of a suspicious person in the area. It was after hours with no children around, but we would please like to take this opportunity to remind our community to be vigilant and to please report any suspicious person or behaviour to the school office, even if it is after hours.

School Visitor Policy
We are now out of the state of emergency but we would still like to remind our community about the campus entry policy. We ask that parents continue to stay off campus and only enter if it is really nessesary. Many thanks for your cooperation.


Book and Culture Week
15th - 17th March
Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation we have changed our Book and Culture Week to run within each classroom instead of around the campus. It is a chance to enjoy and promote reading - not just in the school context but also to understand students own cultures through books and stories.

Students will 
- Drop Everything and Read, we will have a simultanious reading time in school every day from 9.00am - 9.15am
- Have a traditional clothes day, where students can wear clothes and hear stories from around the world
- Pajama reading party 
and of course the dress up as your favourite book character day on the 17th March - get your costume ready!

Teachers will reach out to their class PTA respesentatives shortly, so please get involved!
