DSKI Art Exhibition
March 31 - April 28

This year DSKI students from PS - G5/6 would launch and art exhibit about 'Celebrating Japan: A painting on canvas exhibition." We are excited to invite all the DSKI families to come and view the works of the students!  

 The themes for each grade level's works are as follows: 

  • Preschool and Grade 1: The icons of Japan

  • Grade 2: Ukiyo-e inspired winter paintings

  • Grade 3: Springtime and Sakura

  • Grade 4: The art of Manga and Anime

  • Grade 5/6: The art of Utagawa Kuniyoshi


Parents may visit 8.30am - 12.00pm

Lower Primary: Week 1 April 3-7 and Week 3 April 17-21

Upper Primary: Week 2 April 10-14 and Week 4 April 24-28


Kindly pass by the office to register before proceeding to the Library.

















STEM Week
10th - 14th April 2023
We are very excited that it is now less than two weeks to the start of our STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) week, which this year will be centering around “Building a school on the Moon”. 

As part of our STEM week, we would like to invite parents to come into school on Friday 14th April and share the work that the children will produce during the week. Each phase will have the opportunity to come and view the exhibition of the children’s work at the following times: 


8:30am - 10:15am - Early Years Parents and Children

10:45am - 12:15pm - Upper Primary Parents and Children

2:00pm - 3:20pm - Lower Primary Parents and Children


As well as viewing the exhibition, you will also have the opportunity to participate in an exciting, parent-led workshop with your child. 


We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our STEM exhibition.

We will have a range of different activities running which the children can choose from such as sports, outdoor games, music workshop and art and crafts!

Thankyou to our staff and our PTA!
For organizing a great book and culture week, the students have had a lot of fun and the parade today around Rokko Island was a great idea. Thankyou all and to our parents who came in and spent so much time decorating and preparing the school - very much appreciated!

Have a good holidays and we will see you all back on the 27th March.

School Lunch Order

Deadline  Monday, March 27

We will continue to have a catered school lunch from Pizzeria del Rokko.

This time the lunch period will be between April 3 and June 21, 2023.

Orders can only be processed after payment has been made and confirmed.

Please be aware that in case of the absences or sickness of the child during the period the fee cannot be refunded.

The lunch will not come with chopsticks or fork. Your children need to bring them from home.

 

Early Years and Pre-School

The Early Years and Pre-School childrens lunch is Y500 each and the total cost is Y26,500

Book and Culture Week

"Bringing diverse people together in creating a united DSKI culture"

There are many exciting activities planned for the students on the Book and Culture week celebration. 

Please find below some activities for the week.

International Parade: 

Everyone is welcome to join the DSK International parade around Rokko Island on March 16 (Thursday) from 9:30am - 10:00am. Please come to school on your national costume too! The teachers, students and PTA volunteers will convene at the yard area per class starting from the Lower Primary, Early Years and Upper Primary. We will exit through the main gate.

On the 25th February 2023, the school choir and some of the students went to perform at the music event, the Hyogo Foreign Schools Association concert.
It was the first time for us as a school choir to join a big event. We were nervous but had lots of fun, too. Our students did a great job! - Azusa.




Book and Culture Week 2023

Please find below some activities for the week. 



Students and parents may come to school wearing the different costumes for the Spirit Week! The PTA will set-up stations for the students and teachers to experience games, food, crafts, stories, dance and more from their country. If you are interested to participate, kindly let us know before the 6th of March (Monday). click here Book and Culture Week.


International Parade: 

Everyone is welcome to join the DSK International parade around Rokko Island on March 16 (Friday) from 9:30am - 10:00am. Please come to school on your national costume too! The teachers, students and PTA volunteers will convene at the yard area per class from the EY, Lower Primary, Upper Primary and will exit through the main gate. 


Onigiri Cart:

The Sawada Family (parents of Rino in Preschool) have graciously donated their onigiri burger food cart to all the students and staff of DSKI. They will park the cart outside yard gate. Your child's homeroom teacher will send a link today where you can choose the type of onigiri for your child. Kindly fill in the google form before the 8th of March. As per the schedule, you may join your child and bring a picnic mat to eat the onigiri or snack on the yard area during the 30 minutes  allotted time. 


Cultural Booth:

The PTA is still accepting items for the cultural booth set up. Kindly send it to your child's homeroom teacher.


We are looking forward to be celebrating this wonderful event with the DSKI families!
