Oktoberfest

(Gates open from 9.45am)
The PTA committee is busy making the final preparations for the return of Oktoberfest!

It will be a great day for all the family with tombola and great prizes, food, drinks and games for the children. Ms Nakajima has been preparing music with the school choir and we will also have some classes doing special performances.

- If you can not make it but would still like your child to join, accompanied by a guardian, this is okay.

- It is also okay for any suiblings who are not students at DSKI to join.

When you arrive, please have your temperature checked at the reception desk and collect your attendance wristband.

Kobe Farm - Experience Rural Life
11th November
4.15pm - 5.30pm

We are very happy to announce a new collaberation between DSKI and Kobe city. The city has a farm on the other side of Rokko Mountain, you can see the location here.

They will be holding farm festivals at different times of the year and we have been invited to take part. Our students can harvest and prepare food, together with the local students and residents - so a great way to experience life in a rural area of Japan. You can see more photos on Instagram here.

If we have enough people, Kobe city will provide transport there and back, departing school at 3.30pm.

Student Absence and Out of Hours Contact
If your child will be away please could you include the school office in any emails you send to teachers. Please could we also ask parents to call our out of office hours number 090 9622 1402 about any covid cases or close contact cases you need to let us know about at the weekend or evening time. Thankyou!

Morning Parking at Drop Off
Please can we ask parents not to park on the street at morning and afternoon drop off or pick up. Please drop and go if you can.

For parents who do need to park at drop off, between 8.20am and 8.40am DSKI families can park in the TOHO supermarket car park free of charge. A big thankyou to them.

Please understand though that TOHO has agreed only on condition it doesn't cause any inconvenience to their operations with delivery trucks - so please only use the parking bays. If it is full, please use the Times car park opposite the school.

Student Clubs for Semester 1 - Updated list
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for clubs this term. This year we have a new record number of children registered for the after school programme.

Most clubs will be running, but due to low numbers for some we had to cancel some of the clubs.

Cancelled clubs due to low numbers :
Monday: Ultimate Frisbee
Tuesday: Calligraphy, Art for Upper Primary, Readers & Writers
Wednesday: Gardening, Basketball, Drumming, Photography
Thursday: Board Games for Lower Primary, German Class for Upper Primary, Theatre & Film
Friday: French for Beginners, Calligraphy

If your child was registered for one of these, and would like to join a different club, then please fill in the Updated Online Registration form.

All of the other clubs will be offered, and you will receive a confirmation email by the end of next Tuesday. For those registered in Tuesday clubs, the confirmation emails will be sent out soon, as clubs will begin next Tuesday!
