All Pumkins are Different

When you call in for your three way conferences next week, please enjoy our art exhibition, a Yayoi Kusama inspired exhibit of paintings and sculptures created by all primary students under the guidance of their wonderful art teacher, Mr Lubin.

We are also happy to announce that Mr Lubin will be exhibiting his work at Singapore Art Week under the Taksu gallery and he has also been selected to exhibit further work during the Kuala Lumpur Art Fair. Congratulations to Mr Lubin and if you are there at the time, please take a look!

We will be publishing our after school club offers for students and also our parent clubs next Friday.

Parents - 
If any parents are interested in running a club, either for students or for other parents we would be very happy to hear from you. The clubs for students can be before or after school and if you would like to offer a club for parents, it can be at any time convienient for you!

Earthquake Donations
Congratulations to Emma from kindergarten who collected 50, 620 Yen in donations for earthquake relief - many thanks for taking action Emma!

Zen Workshop 
Didier Hartmenn is running a Zen workshop later this month. Muho Nölke is quite well known in German speaking countries like Switzerland, Austria and Germany and will be visiting Kobe to run the workshop.

NTYApresents "Beckett", a musical comedy collection of Samuel Beckett, a Nobel Prize winning playwright. NTYA turned his plays into a surprisingly current, unforgettable, and fabulously entertaining masterpiece!

-What is NTYA?-

 NTYA is an international theater company based in Kobe, that features young artists, from 5 years old to highschool students, performing musicals in English. The expert training by top professionals inspires our members to strive for excellence, not only in music, theater, and dance, but in every aspect of their lives. Because the training and the performances are in English, our young artists are equipped with all the requisite skills associated with professional success anywhere in the world. The stage has long been recognized by educators the world over as the most effective platform ever for young people to gain confidence and learn commitment, responsibility, communication, and teamwork skills that are critical for success in any field of endeavor.

We are happy to be able to host Ms Coco, a singer/songwriter from Kobe who will be here to show our children what Rhythm and Blues music is and what it sounds like by singing a selection of songs for the students to enjoy.

Earthquake drill

Parent Cafe - Natural Disaster DSKI Policy and Procedures

Any parents who would like to see our evacuation drill and how we run it, please feel free to join. 

- Please could we ask to keep clear of the students, so watching from a location close by the school - 

We will hold a parent cafe at 9.30am to discuss how we will manage things if we every had a natural disaster and answer any questions you may have. So please join us in the STEM room if you would like to take part.

Just a reminder, please could all families fill in the Emergency Contact / Pick-Up form by Friday the 19th. Once complete this will be printed out and kept as a hard copy in our emergency contacts folder until we update it at the start of next school year. Please do let us know of any changes before then.

Earthquake Donations
If any families would like to help the earthquake hit communities by the sea of Japan, Emma from our kindergarten has taken action by designing and making a donation box! 

If any families would like to donate, next Monday the 15th please send cash in a sealed envelope with your family name written on it to school with your child. Emma will call round each class in the morning and ask for any donation, which can then be dropped in the box.

Three Way Conferences

We will soon be issuing our student report cards for the 1st semester and from today you will be able to book a time slot for a three way conference during the week of the 29th January.

This is a chance for you to meet together with your homeroom teacher and child to discuss how they are doing and what your child wants to work on for the next semester.
