DSKI joined the IB Schools in Japan/Korea network meeting in Tokyo last week.
We are part of a wide international school network and organizations. We regularly meet at different schools in Asia for professional exchange, dialog and teacher training to keep DSKI at the forefront of educational best practice. We had very good conversations last week with over 20 schools attending.
We are also happy to say that DSKI is unique in Japan!
The only dual accredited IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Cambridge primary school (and soon to add Cambridge Secondary and the IB Diploma!)
IB PYP forms the school programme framework and we build the Cambridge curriculum for math's, language and science into our IB units of inquiry.
The way we assess student progress and support learners who need that extra help is also unique in Japan to DSKI
We assess students 3 times a year (September, January, April) instead of the usual 2, looking at every student in turn (their work and as a young person) and how we can ensure they will be at the right academic level in June.
Come along to our regular Parent Cafes for more information.
Some numbers -
Over 10,000 Cambridge schools worldwide
25 Cambridge schools in Japan
6038 IB schools in the world
137 IB schools in Japan with a growing number of Japanese state schools using the IB programmes (DSKI was the first accredited IB PYP school in Kobe).
Japan is in the top 10 countries for having IB schools -
1) USA
2) Canada
3) China
4) India
5) Spain
6) Australia
7) Japan
8) Mexico
9) Turkey
10) UK
