School Closed Reminder

27th November

Please dont forget we will be closed for teacher training next Friday.

Last Day on the 18th December - Information

We will have a very special day on the 18th with a suprise visitor for the children! Hint - red clothes, big sack etc. And coronavirus health and safety policy compliant. To allow time to get round all classes we will have a full day programme so the school day this year will end at 3.30pm. 

If any families have already made travel plans for the afternoon, please just let your homeroom teacher know your child will leave at 1.00pm. They will miss the visitor though.

Important - lunches

We have not ordered school lunches for the 18th so all families please supply your child with a lunch.

Coronavirus Update

You may have seen that the number of Coronavirus cases in Japan is rising steeply at the moment. We just want to let you know we are fully informed and making sure our health policy is still working properly to keep all the students safe. We are also in touch with our school doctor regarding the situation.

Online Learning Software
We are reviewing our online learning policy right now to prepare for any school closure that may happen again due to Coronavirus. 

We have postive experiences with Seesaw and think it would be a good idea to use this instead of Google Classrooms, but we would like to hear your opinion about this.

Teacher Training Day

Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Friday the 27th November for teacher training. We are very happy to be working with a well known international schools training organisation looking at cultural awareness and inquiry taught through literacy. 

Winter Holiday Camp

21st - 24th December

9.00am - 3.30pm

4 - 12 years old

Registrations are open for our winter vacation camp - click here to register!

It will run for the first 4 days of the holidays as the Friday is the 25th and our teachers need to be at home to wait for Santa and gifts! A full day programme of art, games and play. All ages welcome, numbers are limited though. 50, 000 yen per child, all lunches and materials included plus a special christmas lunch on the 24th!

Happy Halloween and Happy Holidays!

We all had a great day here celebrating Halloween, thanks again to the PTA for doing such a great job putting it together!

Please have a restful vacation and we look forward to seeing you all back here on the 2nd November.

Japanese TV

1st November 

9.00pm

We are happy to let you know that our school will be on Japanese TV on a feature about international schools in Japan. They will show some pictures and talk about our programme, you can see us on BS channel 7 at 9.00pm. 

 
Coronavirus and Communication to the Community
We would like to thank all our community members for their patience and support this week due to our coronavirus experience. We have learnt a lot and updated our policy which we will publish again this week.

One of the biggest points from parents feeding back to us was about information. We held back due to our concerns about personal privacy, however we see that people need to know more details and it is our responsibility to communicate this. In future we will send out more details to the community.

And please remember, we only want essential visitors onto the campus. Lets not get too relaxed.

Grade 4 Assembly

Next week will be our first assembly of the year. To avoid visitors on campus, we will pre-record the assembly and next week we will upload it to our  YouTube channel.

Halloween
23rd October
We will have our Halloween next week as the real halloween is actually in the school vacation. Once again our PTA have done a great job!

Glücklicher Oktoberfesttag!

We had a lot of fun today with our traditional Oktoberfest/typhoon combination! The students were all able to enjoy activities and our special lunch time choir video and pretzels.

A big thankyou to our PTA for organizing the event, getting the pretzels and decorating our school so the students could enjoy the day.

Oktoberfest
9th October
Our PTA is busy preparing for Oktoberfest next week. Music from our choir, pretzels and activities in class.

Please dont forget -

• To dress your child in the Oktoberfest colours of blue and white!
• For meals from home families, please send in a German food theme lunch box (sausage, potato, salad). School bento familes, the restaurant will take care.

Schools to Schools
We had fun this week in Grade 3 and 4 with a video converence to a school in Jakarta exchanging unit of inquiry information.

Flu Vaccines

Our school doctor, Dr. Adachi will offer to administer flu vaccines here in school.
