Upper Primary Cross Country
Grade 3 - 6
Friday, November 11th
Time: 10.00 am - 12.30 pm

Green Belt on Rokko Island
We are happy to invite all parents of Grade 3 - 6 to our Cross Country event. 
Please make sure that your child wears the school t-shirt, has a hat, an extra water bottle, a coat to keep warm when not running and a nice, healthy snack. 
 
The students will meet at school at 8.30 am as usual and move to Rokko Park at 9.30 am. Parents should join us at 10.00 am at the meeting point.
 
At 13.15 pm we will continue with the normal school schedule. Clubs will be running as usual after school until 16.35 pm.

Kobe Farm - Experience Rural Life 
----Registration Closing Monday 7th----

4.15pm - 5.30pm 

We are very happy to announce a new collaberation between DSKI and Kobe city. The city has a farm on the other side of Rokko Mountain, you can see the location here.

They will be holding farm festivals at different times of the year and we have been invited to take part. Our students can harvest and prepare food, together with the local students and residents - so a great way to experience life in a rural area of Japan. You can see more photos on Instagram here.


If we have enough people, Kobe city will provide transport there and back, departing school at 3.30pm.

St Martins After School Activity
St.Martins' Day Lantern March *This is not a school event*
to those who would like to participate in a traditional St Martin lantern march, please see attached.

- Nov. 11th 17:30 in front of DSKI
- Approximately 30~40 Minutes walk and sing in Rokko Island 

-Purpose; Kids to know the story of St.Martin and to be familiar with a german traditional event
-Kids must come with their guardian(s) for safety reason
-Please bring Lantern/ Flashlight  *recommend bringing hot drinks and wearing warm clothes
-Ms.Azusa supports singing St.Martin's songs privately
-After marching, we have no party.

Winter Camp

We are happy to announce that registration is now open for our winter camp!
We are happy to have students from 3 - 12 years old. We will have a mixture of art and craft, games and fun.
Fee 50, 000 yen per child, lunch included.

Halloween
Many thanks to all our staff and PTA volunteers for today, decorating our school and preparing the halloween trick or treat.

Student Wellness
We are happy to let you know that during the week of 31st October after the break we will be hosting Mr Didier Hartmann (from CrossPhysio) as part of our student wellness programme. 

He will be running a session in each of our primary classes, talking to the students about good posture and doing some simple exercises as well as how to do some stretching if sitting for a long time. 

We are also pleased that he will do a posture and exercise wellness class with our staff.

We are always happy when parents come in and assist us. If you would like to discuss ideas, please dont hesitate to get in touch.

In this seminar we will take a new perspective on your emotions and practice listening to the different 'parts' of you, including thoughts, sensations, and feelings. This seminar utilizes Internal Family Therapy techniques, includes mindfulness, and aims to help participants work towards acceptance of self and emotions.

Presented by Kelly Edens, LCMHCA, NCC, TELL Psychotherapist. Kelly works with clients of all ages on issues such as mood disorders, anxiety, grief, PTSD, clients who have experienced abuse, and family/relationship issues.

Just a reminder the school will close at 1.00pm on Monday next week due to parent teacher conferences. Students will all have lunch at 12.30pm and go home afterwards, school bus will also depart at 1.00pm.



Halloween Celebration!

As Halloween is coming up, we would love your children to dress up in a costume! Next Friday,
The children can come as a scary, funny or even a cute character.
There will be prizes on offer for brilliant costumes.
There will be sweets and activities for the children on the day. 
We all look forward to seeing the children in their amazing costumes - Happy Halloween!

Oktoberfest!
Gates open Saturday at 9.45am
(Dont forget, school closed Monday the 10th)
- Feel free to wear whatever you and your children like, for example Bavarian costumes.
- Please kindly bring small change(coins) for buying Tombola tickets(lottery), kids entertainment tickets(500yen), drinks and food.
- You are welcome to come anytime between 9:45-14:00, please enter from the main gate and get checked temperature, get a wristband, and buy Tombola tickets or kids tickets if you like.
- There will be a food truck offering a few kinds of hot dogs, a dessert, and soft drinks. You are allowed to bring outside food and eat at designated eating areas.
- Please be aware of your kids' performance schedule. The time schedule will be posted at the entrance.
  Please make sure your kids will be near the stage before their performance.
