Music
We are very happy to be able to announce the significant improvements to our Music programme. This year we will have Azusa Nakajima, our new Head of Music working in collaboration with our homeroom teachers to deliver music through the units of inquiry rather than as a stand alone subject.

So for example, if your child has a unit on recycling, they could be making musical instruments in unit time out of old PET bottles,  decorating and filling them with different liquids (art), looking at the liquids properties (science), and then using them to investigate pitch, dynamics, etc and composing a tune! So making our programme much more subject connected. Come along to our Music parent cafe to find out more.

In parallel we will be running a choir club, where students with talent/interest join for free and Ms Nakajima will work with them every week to build a school group who will represent us at special events. More information to follow.

School Clubs - New Offers
After School Care, daily until 5.00pm
We would like to offer a new after school care club. This would be open to all children from kindergarten up to grade 6. It will be for students who are not doing a traditional club, but you would like them looked after until 5.00pm. So for example, if you have a daughter in Skateboard club, and a son who doesn't have a club, we can look after him until you arrive at 5.00pm to pick up both children.

Japanese for Parents
New to Japan? Would you like to learn Japanese for daily use?
This is for you. We would like to offer Japanese for day to day life, so going to the supermarket and asking which is butter or margarine, I only want to buy 5 bottles of coke etc.

English for Parents
Would you like to improve your English skills in a fun, social environment? This is for you!

Next Friday we will send out the sing up for all clubs, including these new offers.

Emergency Procedures
In the next couple of weeks we will be running emergency drills for fire, earthquake and tsunami. We will publish these dates in advance and any parents who would like to see the drills are welcome to join.

Last year we had some questions about how our system worked so we would like to take the opportunity to work together with parents to demonstrate all of  our procedures.

Parent Handbook
If you click here, you will find our parent handbook. Please take a look, it has the supplies list for school materials all students will need, teachers email addresses and information about our school daily routines and procedures including emergencies and bad weather alerts.
