Kobe Children's Hospital Facility Dog Campaign: 60% Goal Reached!

Dear DSKI Community,

I'm Aya, mother of two DSKI students (Grades 1 and 3) and pediatric anesthesiologist at Kobe Children's Hospital.

Amazing milestone reached! Thanks to 700+ generous supporters, including many DSKI families, we've raised over 11 million yen—60% of our goal in just five days! Your overwhelming response has touched all of us at the hospital deeply.

Your heartfelt messages have inspired our entire medical team. Reading comments like "If only we'd had this support during our hospital journey" reinforces how meaningful this initiative is for families.

Your support helps transform our hospital into a warmer, more healing environment for children and families during their most vulnerable moments.

Support and learn about our campaign here: [https://readyfor.jp/projects/KCH-DOG2025

With deepest gratitude,

Dr. Aya

The challenge we will them pose the is to come up with their own design of a sustainable city.
Each grade will be working on one aspect of this and as a school, together creating a full scale model of the city!

Crowdfunding to Bring Facility Dogs to Kobe Children’s Hospital
A Special Initiative by a DSKI Parent

Dear School Community,

My name is Aya, and I’m the mother of two children in grades 1 and 3 at DSKI. I work as a pediatric
anesthesiologist at Kobe Children’s Hospital where we are working to introduce a full-time facility dog
to comfort children and their families during their hospital stay!
Facility dogs bring more than just comfort—they bring healing.I believe they should be a standard part of pediatric care. When I visited hospitals with facility dog
programs, the change was amazing when a dog visited them—kids feeling nervous started smiling,
they looked less afraid of medical staff, and families seemed to feel some emotional relief during long
stays.

Our Crowdfunding Campaign

  • Launch date: Monday, May 12th, 2025

  • Goal: 20 million yen
